![]() ![]() ![]() As a young man, John Lewis risked everything in Selma, Alabama, and yet he continues to fight today for justice and non-violence. I lived through this time in our country’s history but obviously paid little attention to what was happening, because when I read these books I kept asking myself “how could I not know these things happened?” The marchers sacrificed so much to get their message across, yet were treated so horribly for their efforts, some paying with their lives. But once I picked one up, I couldn’t put it down, and like I said earlier they are easy and quick to read. ![]() ![]() You, like me, probably would rather read novels instead of books about the South in the 60’s and 70’s. The “March” bestselling books are very quick reads, written by John Lewis, a black Congressman. There are so many things I want to read on the “new shelf” that I seldom get to the other shelves. MARCH, Book One, MARCH Book Two, MARCH Book Three, written by John Lewisįirst of all, I want to say that our Librarian Carol does a very good job getting new books for us to read, whether it be books on the best seller list or something we request from her. ![]()
